Leaning posts are the most common fence problem around Athens after heavy rain. Wet clay lets posts shift, and posts that were stopped short by rock never had much hold to begin with.
When a leaning post needs attention
- The post moves when you push the top rail
- Soil has washed away from the base
- Panels or wire are pulling with the post
- A gate on the post now drags or will not latch
One or two posts can usually be reset deeper. Request an estimate if several posts along a slope are moving.
