After a stretch of heavy rain, leaning fence posts are one of the most common problems around Athens. Red clay holds water, rock keeps some holes shallow, and posts that were not set deep enough start to tip.
What to check
- Soil washed away from the base of posts
- Posts that move when you push the top rail
- Water running along the fence line instead of away from it
- Gates that suddenly drag or will not latch
One or two loose posts can usually be reset deeper. If many posts along a slope are moving, a repair that also steers water away from the line lasts longer. Use the form to request a free estimate.
